William Charles Sparrow Hyne was born July 19, 1846 in Plymouth, Devon, England. He was the son of William Elias Hyne and Mary Emma Sparrow.
His father died in 1850, and in the 1861 England census he is living with his mother in his uncle John Sparrow’s household.
By 1871 he’s followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the Royal Navy and is an assistant paymaster. In the census of that year he is living with his mother as lodgers in the home of William Williams in Plymouth, Devon.
William died March 27, 1900.
