Charles Hyne (1838-?)

Charles was born April 20, 1838 in Blackawton, Devon, England to Charles Hyne and Louisa Hole Carruthers.

Charles was baptized May 30, 1838 in London.

In the 1841 England census Charles appears to be listed as living in Plymouth with his parents and his great-aunts Mary and Susanna Hyne.

In the 1851 England census Charles is studying under headmaster Rev. Hugh Fowler at the Bideford Grammar School.

In the 1881 England census Charles is listed as a civil engineer, visiting with his mother and brother Richard Harry.

After his mother’s death in 1881, Charles is present with his brothers Richard Harry and Harry when their mother’s estate is probated.

In the 1891 census of Canada, Charles is visiting his brother William Harry and his family.

When Charles’ brother William Harry died in 1903, Charles was listed in William’s obituary as one of two of his surviving brothers, along with Harry.
